NABARD-funded JIVA (Natural Farming) Project distributed saplings of guava, malta, mousambi, cocoa, and lemon in Jona Kochari village, Namsai district, Arunachal Pradesh. The initiative promotes plantation on farm bunds to improve soil health, conserve moisture, reduce erosion, and enhance biodiversity. Implemented by Namsai Organic Spices Agricultural Products Producer Company Limited (NOSAAP), the project supports agroecological farming practices. The JIVA Project represents NABARD's evolved approach to sustainable agriculture, building on successful TRIBES/WADI Project experiences. Unlike conventional input-intensive farming, JIVA promotes agroecology-based natural farming that reduces external inputs while building climate resilience.
